I hate running out of battery on my mobile device and I find that the default Windows Mobile indicator is a little vague and it's difficult to really judge precisely how much power you have left.
Step forward Arial Battery Indicator, a really simple app that lets you view more clearly the remaining battery life. No installation is required and it's enough to simply copy the file onto your Pocket PC.
Once you've done this, the Start menu icon in the top-left of your display will change into a small power gauge. This displays the charge as a graphical bar and also shows a percentage figure underneath.
By clicking on the icon you can check out the estimated time remaining, as well as the available memory on your handset.
Apart from that it does nothing else, and you don't even get an audio warnings when you're battery is about to run out.
I also found the icon a little tricky to get rid of, as you can't simply delete it.
If you want a clearer way to view remaining power, Arial Battery Indicator is as simple as they come.
